About Glenwood Dunes Trail

Winding through ancient, forested dunes, this trail network links loops of sand and shade with the Calumet Dunes Paved Trail and Dunewood Campground. An old shoreline, roughly 13,000 years old, lies in these dunes from a time when Lake Michigan's beach sat farther south. Hikers, runners, horseback riders and skiers share the loops, and wildlife and fall color are common sights. Bring a trail map, since there are 13 junctions to track.
