About Harding Icefield Trail
The route begins on the valley floor near Exit Glacier, winding through cottonwood and alder woods and across heather meadows before climbing above the tree line. At the top, the view opens over a vast sheet of ice, with occasional dark peaks, called nunataks, poking through the snow. The icefield is one of the largest in the country and feeds many of the glaciers in the park, so expect a long, exposed day and bring layers.
