About Castle Rock Trail
This trail follows an enormous rock wall, with a visible coal seam and layered striations within arm's reach. Footing is uneven, with rock steps and some scrambling over large boulders, and the gorge falls away beside a path about three feet wide. Wet stone gets very slippery, so the trail is not advised in ice or snow. It ends at the Grandview Rim Trail, where you can turn toward Turkey Spur or loop back to the parking area.
