About The Goat Trail
This route climbs from the historic Kennecott mill area onto the rocky slopes above the glaciers, where the views open across the Root and Kennecott glaciers. Expect loose scree, exposed ledges and a steady, uneven grade, with the glacier ice and icefalls of the Kennecott valley filling the view below. Sturdy boots and a close eye on footing matter here, and weather can change quickly in this high, glacier-carved country.
