About Dog Canyon Trail (Devil's Den)

The route crosses open desert flats, marked by cairns, before dropping into a wash that leads into Dog Canyon. At the far end of the canyon, rock layers that were once horizontal have been folded upright by the forces that built the ridge. Just south, the narrow slot of Devil's Den is best viewed from its rim, since entering it calls for a companion and proper gear. Ask at the visitor center before heading into the slot.
