About Boardwalk Loop
This loop runs on raised planks through the forested floodplain, with bald cypress and giant tupelo trees rising from the water on either side. The flat, all-boardwalk surface makes it one of the most accessible ways to see the park's bottomland. Numbered stops along the way match a self-guided brochure from the visitor center, which explains the forest's natural and cultural history. The park floods often, so parts of the route can close after heavy rain.
