About Apgar Lookout
Apgar Lookout offers expansive views of Lake McDonald and the surrounding high peaks. From the plowed parking area in front of the barn, follow the left fork of the unplowed road across the Quarter Circle Bridge, take the right fork and follow the road about ½ mile to the Apgar Lookout trailhead. The trail has an easy start but soon steepens and becomes strenuous; in winter conditions it may require climbing skins if icy and can be difficult for beginning skiers. The lookout provides excellent views at the top.
