About Bowman Lake
This cross-country route to Bowman Lake is a 12-mile (19.3 km) round trip from the ranger station. After leaving the ranger station, go left at the first junction, then right at the second; several hills on this route can be difficult when icy. The reduced forest canopy from the 1988 burn provides excellent mountain views, and the route leads through forest to a spectacular view at the foot of Bowman Lake. Bowman Lake is popular for canoeing and kayaking; motorized vessels up to 10 horsepower are permitted, and all boats must be inspected for aquatic invasive species prior to launch.
