About Paul H. Douglas Trail
The trail moves through wetlands, globally rare black oak savanna, and open dunes, with views of Lake Michigan along the way. Lupine and other wildflowers thrive in the sunny savanna, so stay single file on the narrow path to protect them and avoid the poison ivy along the edges. The Douglas Center for Environmental Education is within walking distance and offers exhibits, ranger-guided hikes and a Nature Play Zone.
