About Mosquito Lakes Trail
The route climbs steadily up the west side of Mineral King Valley, then forks near the lower rim of Eagle Basin toward Eagle Lake and Mosquito Lake. Hikers and anglers often continue past Mosquito Lake up the drainage to the upper lakes. Early-summer mosquitoes can be a nuisance, and since lake and stream water can't be guaranteed pure, carry your own. The small trailhead lot is unpaved and rocky, and marmots can damage parked cars.
