About Appalachian Trail Access
This access trail links you to the Appalachian Trail in the Mathews Arm and Elkwallow area, where the long footpath follows the crest of the Blue Ridge through the Appalachian Mountains. It suits a day hike along a small section of the trail rather than a full thru-hike. Nearby, Jeremys Run and Thornton Hollow overlooks are each within a short walk, and piped water is available at Elkwallow Gap on the trail.
