About Lone Star Trail
Follow an easy, flat, unpaved trail along the Firehole River through lodgepole pine forest to a secluded clearing with Lone Star Geyser. Lone Star erupts about every three hours, typically reaching 30–45 feet. The area offers picturesque views of the river and riparian plant life, making it a pleasant spot to pause. Bicycles are permitted on the trail, but cycling is not allowed beyond the barrier near the geyser.
