About Syncline Loop Trail
This primitive loop descends into Upheaval Canyon and climbs back through Syncline Valley, giving close-up looks at Upheaval Dome, a crater-like formation with intriguing geology. It suits experienced hikers and connects with the White Rim Trail. Expect desert scrub and cottonwoods, with occasional pools of water along the washes. Several Upheaval Dome overlooks and False Kiva are within walking distance, so they can be combined into one outing.
