About Cowlitz Divide Trail
This trail traverses dense forest and climbs to the Cowlitz Divide, where it opens into subalpine meadows and offers expansive views of Mount Rainier from a 5,914-foot knoll. The route includes steep climbs and descents and drops about 800 feet into Indian Bar, a large meadow where the Ohanapecosh River flows through. If transportation can be arranged, Indian Bar can be combined with the Summerland section of the Wonderland Trail for a scenic one-way trip.
