About Indian Bar Trail

The trail climbs through forest to a ridge with panoramic views of Mount Rainier across subalpine meadows, then drops into a broad green valley where the Ohanapecosh River splits the meadow. Numerous waterfalls splash down lava cliffs around the valley, with Wauhaukaupauken Falls a short distance below the Indian Bar shelter. It's a good place to sit on a clear late-summer night and listen to bull elk bugling.
