About Bierstadt Lake Trail
This trail climbs through stands of aspen to the top of the Bierstadt Moraine, where hikers are rewarded with scenic mountain views, including Longs Peak and views toward Sprague Lake. Several routes converge at Bierstadt Lake, so hikers can approach it from different trailheads (many use the Bear Lake Trailhead or the shuttle-serviced Bierstadt parking area); when started from the Bierstadt Lake Trailhead the route is steep uphill. The lake sits on the moraine and provides picturesque vistas and opportunities for wildlife viewing.
