About Dark Holllow Falls Trail
A stream-side path drops through forest to a tall cascade that tumbles down a rocky slope. The descent is steep and the uphill return is tiring, so go slowly when the stones are wet. Black bears, white-tailed deer, and birds such as ovenbirds and scarlet tanagers may appear along the way. There is no view from the brink, so stay on the trail, and the trailhead sits near the Byrd Visitor Center.
