About Sunset Rock Trail
Red firs, Jeffrey pines and incense cedars shade the nearly flat path to a broad granite dome overlooking Marble Fork Canyon, a deep gorge carved by the Kaweah River. The 2021 KNP Complex Fire affected the area and altered the landscape. It's a favorite spot for sunset in the Giant Forest, when the canyon takes on colorful light. Icy patches and deep snow can linger in winter and early spring, so plan accordingly.
