About Sulphur Creek Top-Down Route

The creek has carved a deep canyon through some of the park's oldest bedrock, with narrows, overhanging channels and three small waterfalls. Expect frequent wading and, at times, deeper pools that may require swimming, so ask at the visitor center about conditions. Flash floods are a real hazard, so skip it if rain is possible, and plan on a shuttle with a car at each end. Chimney Rock Overlook is a short walk away.
