About Split Rock Trail
Washes, bare rock and large boulders make up this desert loop, where the formations reveal the park's geologic forces at work. A boulder split in two marks the start. Longer routes link to the Discovery and Skull Rock trails, but that calls for a map and solid navigation skills. There is no shade and no cell service, so start early in warm months and carry plenty of water.
