Adams Key and the Presidents' Cocolobo Club
Adams Key sits on the northern side of Caesar Creek. Today it is a day-use area, but it is best known as the former home of the Cocolobo Club, a retreat that drew notable guests.

Visitors can see the club's historic buildings, which offer a direct look at that era.
Carl Fisher and Gar Wood were among the club's guests, and so were Presidents Harding, Hoover, Johnson, and Nixon. One photograph from the period shows Harding at a fishing party at the club, a glimpse of how the place was enjoyed. For several of these men, Adams Key served as a getaway.
A trail of roughly one mile loops around the key, winding through hardwood hammock. Some visitors have found much of it overgrown, so keep your expectations modest. A picnic pavilion and toilets are on site. Two families of park rangers make their home on the key.
Caesar Creek runs swiftly past the key, so be mindful of the water. Like every key in the park, Adams Key can be reached only by boat, and boat tours have departure points that include Convoy Point, Deering Estate, and Dinner Key. Picnicking is a good way to spend time on the key, and the picnic pavilion is there for that purpose.
